CA-us395: the road - part II

Weather, seasons, time of day; gives us
different views of  the same place.
A skiing trip in February, a hiking trip in August.
You are driving two different roads.
Both are great.
US395 is a destination in itself.

1. What looked like a stormy morning,

2. ...turned into a glorious day.

3. From the city of Bishop this road climbs the Sierra's to fabulous places. The sign commemorates Galen Rowell famed Nt. Geographic photographer, and his wife, and pilot, Barbara. You can see his work and their story, at Mountain Light Photography studio at Bishop.

4. The cattle ranches along the road, are a trip to the old west.
Ranges that look like cow heavens reminded me of an old TV commercial...

5. ...showing "happy California cows."  ... a few miles down road, and...

6. OH NO! in the commercial the cows make cheese.

7.  June Lake, frozen and covered with fresh powder. Last stop on us395.
